ShipTime now offers the option to request an Adult Signature for your shipments, ensuring that only an adult (as defined by the receiving country or region) can sign for the delivery. This added layer of security can be crucial for shipments containing valuable or sensitive items.
How to Request an Adult Signature
The option to request an Adult Signature is available on the Shipping Details screen when entering the shipment dimensions.
Each courier may have different costs associated with this option, which can be viewed on the courier selection screen before choosing a quote. Only couriers that support the Adult Signature option will display this feature on the selection screen.
Setting Adult Signature as a Default Option
- You can set the Adult Signature option to be defaulted to ON for every shipment.
- Navigate to Settings > Preferences and set the Signature option to Adult.
Courier Restrictions and Availability
- Purolator, Canada Post, Canpar, and Loomis: Accept adult signatures for domestic shipments within Canada. This option is not available for international shipments.
- FedEx: Offers the Adult Signature option for both international and domestic shipments.
Canada Post Age Restrictions
- For deliveries within Canada, Canada Post requires a person aged 19 or older to sign for the package.
- For shipments to Quebec, Manitoba, and Alberta, the age requirement is 18 or older.
