1. Securement Equipment Must Be Selected in Advance

If your shipment requires additional securement, items such as straps, load bars, or eTrack systems must be selected during booking.

Choosing the correct equipment ahead of time helps ensure freight is properly secured during transport.

2. Customs Brokers for International Shipments

For cross-border FTL shipments between Canada and the United States, shippers are required to arrange their own customs broker.

Having a customs broker in place helps support customs clearance and can reduce unnecessary border delays.

3. Prohibited Items for FTL Freight

Certain goods are restricted from shipping through ShipTime FTL services.

Prohibited items include:

• Hemp or hemp products containing more than 0.3% THC

• Original or fine art valued above $20,000 USD per piece

• Automobiles, motorcycles, sailboats, motorized boats, and yachts

• Cash, currency, cheques, money orders, COD payments, and coins

• Collectible or display models including ships, vehicles, airplanes, or architectural models

• Live animals

• Pharmaceutical drugs

• Neon items

• Fresh food, produce, or perishable goods not transported in temperature-controlled environments

• Gold, silver, precious metals, and loose gemstones

• Securities, negotiable documents, deeds, gift cards, manuscripts, or debt-related documents

• Flowers, plants, and cotton

• Grandfather or grandmother clocks

• Windows, plate glass, or flat glass

• Bulk cargo transported loose or non-containerized

• Used engines or motors

Each truckload may contain up to 50 individual items.

Dimensions

Freight dimensions must remain within the interior dimensions and overall capacity of the selected truck.
